Should have known when I read that the developer had a whopping two Linux testers that it would be laborious to get it working, but wow. None of the control options do anything; increase zoom rate, decrease zoom rate, invert y axis, doesn't matter... you get the same controls no matter what. Shame, because it looked like a pretty good Homeworld ripoff.. This is a good game, I am impressed with the graphics for a new devoloper. Although there are inevitable bugs (my first run I couldnt recruit certain ships) and the UI needs a little love and to be simplified slightly while adding some more options. Some ship cusomisation would be great also. I would say to people if you really like to try games by new developers I would highly advise this game. Good luck to those that have helped create this little gem.. This is usually the kind of game I like - I loved ee.g. Homeworld. This game is similar in many ways... just inferior in all. It is short (I played through it in my first playthrough) - it took only a few hours and I was trying to explore things, not get done quickly. The research options are... few and I got done researching everything within the first hour of playing. The story is straight forward without any depth or interesting twists. The controls are... the most difficult thing about the game. While homeworld was intuitive to control, this one was always a pain, trying to get a good view of the playing field, following the right ship, even selecting the right ship... all a pain. All those nice convinience commands that current RTS titles usually have (e.g. quick selecting groups of the same units), they are absent here. Actions like "guard"... not there.Oh well... I'm not going to say that I hated the game - it's just that it looked like the programmers started but never got to actually do the game they wanted to do and while I will not play this again I have spent my time on worse games before. No buy recommendation from me, though, sorry.. this game is a lie... there are games that dont lie... like homeworld... and sins of a solar empire.DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. This game reminds me a lot of Astrox: Hostile Space Excavation. There's a lot of the same elements, but I find the map layout and number of ships you can control to be more fun. There are some drawbacks, as stated in some other reviews, such as the viewpoint of the ships and inability to cross the map unless following a ship. I also had some graphical issues which crashed my game, but I'm not sure whether that's a result of this game or a bug with my graphics setup. Either way I found it enjoyable, and I would especially recommend if on sale.. I have 0.3 hours of gameplay, and it's 0.3 hours I'll never get back,The experience is frustratingly simple, there's no challenge, no engaging storyline or anything. I bought it on deep discount and still wasn't worthwhile.
